Endless Love For Tartan

The Palace is yet another iconic NYC location that becomes even more magical during Christmas time. Elle and I headed uptown to the palace yesterday to shoot some holiday outfits for all of you! Not going to lie, I have slight regrets that I didn't wear this outfit for this years Christmas card. The green and navy plaid paired with the red pants might be a lot for some people, but it's what I love during this time of year. I actually wore this to class after we took photos and I swapped these red pants for blue jeans to tone it down a bit.

I'm sad to report that these shoes are no longer with us. When I was in class the left heel of my mule popped right off before my presentation (lucky me LOL)! I got these mules about three years ago for $15 from a random online store so I think its time to get a replacement. The similar pair that I linked for you guys is the new pair that I ordered!

Vineyard Vines is always a good idea in my mind, but I always love their holiday collection the best. That's where my bell sleeve top is from! If you saw the picture of my siblings and me on my Instagram you would have seen them wearing VV too. Even though you can't wear tartan most of the year, it usually doesn't go out of style so I don't mind spending a little extra money on it.

These are the earrings that I actually wore to my junior prom and still wear all the time to this day. They are a true J. Crew classic! I'll try my best to find a similar pair for you guys that are still available.

Casual Holiday Outfi

I absolutely love wearing Christmas-y outfits during the holiday season. You can catch me in tartan, green, and red a lot of days of the week leading up to Christmas. Although, most of these days are just spent at school or work so they tend to be more on the casual side. Cute tops and dark wash jeans are my favorites! This green cowl neck top from Sail To Sable has been my go-to top lately. I love the stripes and big gold buttons that go down the back of it.

For some extra holiday flare I had my red Tory Burch crossbody, and fun earrings on. I've become a huge fan of crossbody bags since being in the city. It always feels very safe and secure. This one has a magnetic flap and a zip pocket on the inside.

Back at it again with the statement earrings... Working at Kendra Scott is the definition of dangerous. I couldn't pass these up! The colorful stones go with a surprising amount of outfits too.

Dunkin's New Espresso

I've got good news for all my coffee lovers out there... Dunkin' has officially released its espresso! This means lots of cappuccinos and lattes coming your way. As you guys saw I was over at Tasty's headquarters a couple weeks back, which was a huge Dunksgiving celebration where we were all able to try the new espresso, make coffee scented candles, get your face on a latte, and enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner. I shared a bunch of pictures and videos of this on my Instagram story. To make sure you never miss anything, follow me @morganroseblog!

I've always been a coffee lover, so you can only imagine how excited I was to experience all of this. After having a couple of snacks at the event, I moved over to the station where you could make your own candles. I chose the scents vanilla and espresso, and it even had coffee beans in the bottom of it! I burned through the whole thing in less than a week since I burned it whenever I was in my room (I couldn’t resist!). Then we moved onto my favorite part of the whole event which was the latte art. Michael Breach (barista) is a coffee artist from Brooklyn who is on tour right now with Dunkin’ to promote the new espresso! He would take a picture of you on his iPad and then put your face on the top of your latte. These lattes were, of course, made with the new espresso which did not disappoint. It was smooth and not at all bitter which is all I could ever want.

After all this fun stuff we got to hear from the people that perfected this new espresso. This has been in the works for a full year and took plenty of trial and error. Every Dunkin’ store is getting upgraded equipment in order for the consistent intensity and flavor that is desired. All the stores will also be getting adorable orange cups for the drinks. Send me a DM on Instagram if you try a latte!

Comfortable & Cozy

I don't think it comes as any surprise that I love to get dressed up. On days when I just have class and run errands, I tend to dress down. Which usually involved my favorite jeans, Tretorn sneakers, that when it's cold, and now my new favorite pullover! I always gravitate towards pullovers like this once the temperature starts to drop. It's cute and comfortable- the best combo.

How To Wear Lilly Pulitzer Into The Fall

Packing away my Lilly Pulitzer when the temperature drops have to be one of the saddest things. I love wearing bright colors, but most I would be freezing in some of my stuff I have. The past two years I have experimented with a bunch of outfits that involve Lilly and also a little bit more chilly weather. I think I have finally perfected the formula to extend the life of some of my favorites!

First things first, this formula does not work on everything (sorry!). The first prints to get packed away for me are usually ones that involve seashells, mermaids, or really anything that screams summer. Then the more bright prints have to go. Those are usually the hot pink, yellow, orange, etc. The darker toned prints are going to be the ones that will look good with the rest of your winter clothes.

Once you have a piece with a darker print (like this skirt I am wearing!) it's time for some layering. I keep the rest of my outfit neutral colors so my skirt is still the focus of the outfit. I'm wearing my favorite cream colored 3/4 length sweater tucked into this skirt. Navy would also be a great option. I just stuck with the cream since I was throwing on a navy coat over top of it.

My beloved jacks get traded in for my trustee pair of penny loafers so my toes can stay warm. I'm also a huge fan of a good pair of nude tights! They can really make a difference during times you're walking outside (AKA me walking back and forth to the subway).

My accessories are also toned down (for me at least). The #1 point I want to stress is to just let the Lilly be the center of the outfit. Some studs and a bow in my hair was all I needed!

Lastly, add a neutral jacket over top of your outfit! I love this classic navy jacket I got from Rent The Runway. The jacket compliments the navy that is already in the skirt and makes it more "fallish."

My other favorite thing to wear in the fall is my favorite popovers with jeans and a vest! A cream or navy vest should match almost every popover color.

Life Is Sweet

Being in Soho all the time has become a dangerous thing for me since my favorite macaroon store, Laduree is located there. I have such a sweet tooth and macaroons satisfy that like nothing else. If you're ever in New York City you have to go!! On top of the fact that everything is delicious, the packaging is also gorgeous! The ambiance inside the store and restaurant is also gorgeous.

Having Rent The Runway this fall has been such a game changer. This turtleneck, jeans, and booties are my go to this time of year and I've just been throwing some cute coats over top of it! I love the blazer-like style of this coat. It's not like anything else I own! The colors of it also go with all my favorite fall colors I wear. I've linked everything from my outfit for you to shop below!

Stroll In Soho

So happy to finally be sharing these outfit photos with you all! A couple weeks back my wonderful friend Elle and I were in Soho and I was determined to get some classic Soho pictures. I spent a ton of time in Soho because it has every store you could ever need and it is also where I work! These classic cobblestone streets and shopping are exactly what Soho is known for.
I have had my eye on these J. Crew pants for literally years so I recently bit the bullet recently and buy them. Even though they are slightly more suitable for warmer weather I knew I could still create plenty of outfits with them for the fall time. They zip up on the side so they lay completely flat on the front.

My sweater is an old sweater that I have from Target, but I'll do my best to find a similar one! I love cable knit sweaters like this for the fall and winter. It is actually extremely good quality for the price. I think I have had mine for three years now and it is still in great condition. The white collared shirt I am wearing underneath it is another J. Crew classic.

This bag is a little bit out of the box for me, but I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of into it! I like taking little bits of trends and throwing them into some of my more "classic" outfits. The round metal handle on this handbag is totally different than anything I own. This color would also be perfect for fall and winter!

I kept it relatively simple with my jewelry this time around. I have on my favorite Lisi Lerch earrings, Kendra Scott necklace with rose quartz, and some J. Crew bracelets. Up until recently since I started working at a jewelry store I wore a lot of the same thing with the exception of statements earrings. It has been really fun to wear some new things and I shot some looks today with them!

Favorite Fall Dresses Under $100

I try to wear dresses until the weather makes it almost impossible so you can see me in tons of dresses during the fall time. Often times with a jacket thrown on over top or paired with some of my favorite booties. Speaking of booties, I got the best pair at the Jack Rogers sample sale two days ago! If you ever have a chance to go to their sample sale I highly recommend it. I've been seeing so many cute dresses at great prices lately. It only felt right to share all my great finds with all of you! Everything I included is under $100 so it doesn't hurt your wallet ;)
